Inspired by the primary feather of a bird, these tall indoor/outdoor sculptures, Hikurangi Wind Wands, are make of recovered Heart Rimu. They are formed, shaped and worked to have a beautiful curve that is extenuated by the vertical spine and the charred grooves, with each one showing the movement and life of the Rimu.
Each sculpture is between 250 - 280cm height & up to 21cm width (feather).
The base of the steel stand is painted for indoor and outdoor use, 40 x 40cm in size. The base is able to be bolted in place for outdoor stability.
