Commission Gallery

Artform is a commission gallery. This means that the artist sets, with our advice, the retail price. The art is given to us to sell on their behalf, we do not own the stock, and the artist gets paid once their item is sold.

Our artists are small operators, not all of them make a living off their art. This has no reflection on their passion for what they do, it is simply hard to make a living off their craft. We therefore aim to sell their work at a fair price that reflects their workmanship, their quality and dedication to the art form. We do not give discounts, as this would reflect on the price the artist receives. 

The artists need the gallery to be able to sell. In New Zealand work on a modest, real margin. We too, therefore, are not able to discount. 

For this simbiotic relationship to exist, our customers understand the fairness of our approach, and like the transparency of the process. We trust you do too.

Please note: This service is only available to clients within New Zealand. If you find an artwork that you like but you would like to view it in-situ, we are happy to provide you with time to assess your new acquisition. We’ll deliver the piece to you free of charge.
