Susannah Bridges
We Love…
The juxtaposition that Susannah works with is delightful: with some pieces, she takes a saw and hacks into porcelain. On others, she uses delicate lace to use the imprint made in the porcelain to create beautifully evocative patterns reminding us of grandmother’s ‘Sunday Room’ - the one you never went into where all the treasures were. Only Sue, with her lively laugh and vibrant energy, can pull those distinctly different styles off. ARTFORM.

As well as producing ceramic works for domestic use, Susannah also creates sculptural pieces, furniture and lighting, and has been commissioned to produce or design public works. Susannah is currently developing and refining her range of ceramic work, alongside developing new lighting and sculptural ideas. I have recently moved into a fabulous new studio space and it’s a fantastic feeling to be designing and making again after a period of time where I was unable to do that”. Susannah has worked for local Government as an Arts Project manager, and she has tutored at Unitec Institute of Technology in the Design School.
